Traveler tillbaka i Kanada efter corona-kaos – släpper nytt album

Och det låter bra.

Kanadensiska NWBHM-bandet Traveler har hastigt och lustigt släppt ett nytt album, Termination Shock, vilket borde locka en del lyssnare eftersom debuten från 2019 drog till sig mängder av hyllningar.

Bandet var på turné i Europa när coronaviruset dök upp och orsakade kaos för turnerande band, och deras statusuppdateringar på Facebook är en spännande följetong.  Till en början gick de första dagarna i mars bra, till och med ”smooth”, men den 10 mars skrev bandet följande:

We regret to announce that we have to cancel our shows in Wroclaw, and Lodz in Poland. This is due to the situation at the Polish border regarding the spread of the Coronavirus. There is a risk of 1 or more us being held in quarantine for up to 2 weeks, which is unfortunately a risk we cannot take. We are extremely disappointed and extend our apologies to all our Polish fans. We will 100% make up for this in the future.

Samma dag tvingades busschauffören hem till det land som just då hade det som tuffast vad gäller viruset och myndigheternas restriktioner:

We would like to thank our main driver Iacopo for his amazing work with the band on this journey. He has unfortunately had to take an emergency flight back home to Italy. We wish him nothing but the best. And a safe trip back to his family.

This whole thing has raised a lot of concerns. But I assure you, we are working hard on how to continue rocking for all of you.

12 mars slog locket definitivt igen för bandets turné:

We have been informed we need to fly back to Canada ASAP. We are very sorry to all of our fans. But this situation has gone way beyond our control. I’m sure most of you will understand. When things calm down, we will return. But for now, what’s important is getting back home to our families.

17 mars, efter några dagar strandade i Paris, är bandet på kanadensisk mark igen – och till skillnad mot Testament, Exodus och Death Angel-turnén (där många blev sjuka redan i Europa eller på planet hem) verkar ingen i bandet ha insjuknat i covid-19.

The boys are back in Canada! JP is off to Michigan. Can’t thank everyone enough for all the support. Despite the crazy turn of events, we still consider this a very successful tour. And it’s all because of our main man Stuart Bartlett and YOU, the fans!
