Manowar och At the Gates – nu i Nationalenyklopedin

Kunskap, för böfelen!

För Nationalenyklopedin fick jag i våras ett roligt och krävande frilansuppdrag – att uppdatera uppslagsverkets ämnesord ”hårdrock” med black metal och death metal, samt att skapa ämnesord på grupper som saknades, framför allt tuffare och viktigare band.

Därför kan alla ne.se-prenumeranter numer läsa korta biografier, typ ämnesord, om Pantera, Candlemass, Entombed, Meshuggah och At the Gates, men även King Diamond, Accept, Manowar och Mustasch. Vad som är väldigt kul med detta är att NE köpt in bilder till många av ämnesorden.

NE.se är en tjänst som man ska prenumerera på för att få ut de längre versionerna av artiklarna. Något som många skolor gör. Så nu hoppas jag att svenska skolbarn skriver artiklar om King Diamond utan att nämna att Kim Petersen inte är släkt med Amy Diamond, som Wikipedia länge hade som icke-relevant uppgift tills Bara Metal uppmärksammade det. Exclusive interview – Accept: ”Their ambition was to destroy us”

Accept spelar på Sweden Rock. Här är en pinfärsk intervju med Wolf Hoffmann.

So you are writing songs again…

– Oh yeah, we are already working on album number three.

You call it album number three? I thought that one was done years ago in the eighties – this means that you look upon Accept today like a fresh new start?

– Absolutely. It feels like that. A lot of people know that we have had a long break. These three last years seem like a rebirth, a restart for us.

Back to my question. Is it the same thing now as it was in the eighties – writing songs?

Ur den kommande intervjun med Wolf Hoffmann i Accept:

Bara Metal: I was reading a book a about the Swedish music magazine OKEJ the other night, do you remember a certain photosession…

Wolf Hoffmann: OKEJ! Yeah, I remember!

BM: … with the band sitting on a horse… Do you remember this?

WH: Of course I do. Backwards on a horse.

BM: It is one of the most strange pictures of Accept I have ever seen. Do you remember why?

WH: To this day I do not understand why. Someone said: “It would be a fantastic idea, let’s go do this.” I have not read the swedish text so I do not know why. We just went along.

BM: You went along because you were young? So, would you agree to such a photo session today?

WH: Probably not. We have had many weird photosessions. Oh, not many but a few. What were we thinking? Another one is that back photo on one of the first albums, when we look like drag queens, everybody knows that. It is hard not to cringe when I see that today.
